Welcome to the blog of Exodus Photography. We are a husband and wife team located in Georgia. The purpose of this blog is to show how much we appreciate all of our clients, family, and friends. We hope you enjoy viewing and reading about our latest work and things to come.
Back in the day during summer, when school was out, my mom would make sure we had an arts and craft project. Since then I have made it my personal goal to have a personal arts and craft project outside of photography. I have always loved antiquing and I love finding children’s furniture and reupholstering them.
Last year I reupholstered 2 chairs both I used in client sessions. Check them out:
This year I have decided to continue my reupholstering project with the redesign of two chairs I have been holding on to. I love the frame but the fabric clashes with clothing children wear for our sessions.
I want to paint the frame white but like my black and white chair I want the gold to show through giving it a vintage look.
I still have not decided the fabric color but I am looking for something vibrant that will go well with children’s clothing. Here are the chairs before I start.:
The seat itself will need more foam for cushion.
First I removed all the fabric. Here are the chairs stripped naked.
As you can see the fabric backing is stretched out so I will replace it also.
Next I will paint the frames and look for my fabric. I’ll keep you updated on my summer project and I hope you will invest your time in a summer project too. (^_^)
This session reminds me of an oldie but goodie by Al Green…..Love & Happiness. “Loving you whether times are good or bad, happy or sad!” Kenny and Teena celebrated their 20 year anniversary back in March, but finally had the opportunity to use the gift that their daughter Nuri gave them. We had the honor of capturing them last Saturday in Atlanta, GA at the Millennium Gate. We always get excited to meet married couples who have been together for a long time. These days that is hard to come by. Not only did we enjoy this session, but we also learned a lot from them. Happy 20th Anniversary! Here are a few images from the session. Enjoy!
It’s always great shooting members of our own family. We’re super excited about the new addition that will soon be here. This will be their 3rd child. I’m sure he’ll be very protected by his older sister and brother (who are preteens) when he arrives. We can’t wait to see your little bundle of joy. Here are a few images from the maternity session. Enjoy!!
We’ve added two more young ladies to the list of Untouchable Society teen models. Meet Ashley and Farrah. Ashley is a college student who wishes to be an actress. However, she’s decided to try modeling as well. Keep an eye out for her in a movie that was filmed right here in middle Georgia called “The Crazies”.
Farrah is a high school student who really loves to dance. Right now she is focusing on the Ballywood style of dancing. Watch out Slumdog Millionaires! You may have an addition to the next movie. Here are a few images from their session. Enjoy!!
You know sometimes as business owners/ photographers we tend to feel that what you do does not matter. There are times you may get discouraged along the way, not being appreciated for what God has called us to do. It’s ok because no one said that it would be easy. It brings back an old familiar song that we’ve sang in church several times. “I don’t feel no ways tired. I’ve come too far from where I started from. Nobody told me the road would be easy, but I don’t believe he’s brought me this far to leave me.” Teddy and I were talking yesterday and the question of the hour was “Where is your heart?” One place for sure is in our business and passion which is photography.
We woke up this morning to an awesome reminder of our heart. No only what we do is an art, but also a ministry. You never know what kind of impact you leave on people. Just when you’re feeling down someone come along and post things like this.
This is Hannah’s second shoot with us. It was requested by her parents that we put her in something girly. I promised her that if she wears a dress for them I’d make her a tutu. She agreed! To put a cherry on the top, her boyfriend came along for the shoot and saw Hannah in a dress for the very first time. We all had a wonderful time. Thanks Hannah for being such a great sport. Richie you’re next for a shoot Here are a few images from the session. Enjoy!!
We are so pleased to announce the arrival of Devell and Rachel’s little one, Victoria. She arrived a few days after the maternity session. We were looking for her to come in June, but she decided she wanted to join mom and dad May. Here are a few images from the newborn session. Congratulations!
What a wonderful day for a wedding. This fun couple was married May 30th at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Macon, Ga. Followed by a themed reception at the Macon City Auditorium. The theme for the evening was “A Night at the Oscars.” They caught everyone by surprise during their first dance. They started out with a slow walk down the red carpet and ended up with a fast, “We’re so happy!” dance. Everyone joined in and celebrated with them. Thank you for allowing us to capture your day. Here are a few images from their wedding day. Enjoy!!
We wanted to say rain, rain, go away, but it was oh so appropriate for this wonderful maternity session. We had a great time this session. We chose Central City Park and The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame for their session. Even though it was raining, there was sunshine on their faces. I must commend Erika for wearing those 3.5-4 inch heels. She wore them with style and class. This will be the couple’s first child. The little one is scheduled to arrive the first week in July. Here are a few images from their session. Enjoy!!
